ORAL CARE
Choose Tattoo Voodoo Studio from Granby.
– For 1 month –
We suggest you rinse your mouth with Alcohol-Free Mouthwash for 15 seconds after each meal or cigarette and keep your usual dental hygiene routine, brushing your teeth and tongue 2 times a day.
– For the first 48 hours –
The tongue will swell up to 2 times its normal size. You can apply ice, drink ice water. It is also advisable to take anti-inflammatories to reduce swelling and sensibility. But ASPIRINE is not recommended because it clears the blood. Swelling should decrease within 3 to 5 days, but the area surrounding the piercing will still remain swollen for 2 to 4 weeks. The piercing may bleed during the night or when you’re waking, this is due to the fact that it’s probably dry: the jewel stuck in the wound and it reopened when the jewel has moved. Applying ice should stop it immediately.
During healing, piercing is open to infections. That’s why proper care is needed to avoid them. Like all other piercings, the tongue produces a liquid substance that should be of a whitish color. If it turns yellow to green, it could possibly be an infection. If this happens, persist in rinsing your mouth with non-alcoholic mouthwash, more often than in the previous days. And do not hesitate to contact your piercing artist for more information on how to properly heal your piercing.
– You should avoid –
Spicy dishes or too hot, because the holes are very sensitive. Dairy products due to their bacterial cultures, and beer due to yeast as well as oral sex are not recommended for the time of healing.
Always wash your hands with an antibacterial soap before touching or cleaning your piercing.
For all piercings that are both inside and outside the mouth, you should follow oral and facial care at the same time.
